L.R seem to be blind to the haldex, they say it’s a sealed for life unit and dosnt require servicing,,,,,I can understand why they might say this if they have ever tried to service one on a post 2010 vehicle,It’s a wonderfull design,(not) the pump is so close to the drive flange that you have to drop the propshaft and remove the flange to get at it

For my car and driving habits 25-30K Haldex service intervals would seem to be fine. I think that checking it once fairly early, then determining what, if any, more frequent service interval than 30K miles should be followed is the prudent thing to do. Haldex is due every 3 years regardless of mileage. Mk7.5 Haldex 30k Service I'm looking ahead ot my next scheduled service interval, and it appears the 2019 R has a 30k mile interval on Haldex oil changes. Has anyone been through this and provide a ballpark on what type of cost I should expect? I always though the Haldex service interval on the S3's was every 40,000 miles and it was an oil and filter change. I have rang my local Audi garage and they are all telling me that it is every 3 years regardless of the mileage and only the oil needs changing. Can anyone confirm this is now Pumps burn out typically because the filter clogs up with scum. Typically cars clog the filter between 45k and 80k miles. But I have seen a Golf R with just 17k miles on the clock with a clogged filter.

I'd probably want to check the Haldex pump's filter screen pretty early, at maybe 10 or 15K miles, and then use whatever you find as guidance for a future service interval. While checking the screen does require draining the Haldex oil, it's still a cheap enough procedure.

The screen gets dirty in 100 miles. It is a poor design IMO. So now I basically do the service every year. Some lower power Golf R's probably have Haldex failures in some cases and don't even know it.

I did my 40K mile maintenance at 20K miles which adds to my total cost of ownership. I serviced mine at a bit under 20K miles just to see, and found maybe 10-15% filter blockage, so not too bad, but worth keeping an eye on.
